The Girls, Shopping and Brisket! Delray Beach, FL

Bob went back for another round of golf this morning. Three days on the trot!!! Today he went around in 87. He must really like this course. Harriet and I went out to a place called The Girls. From the outside it looks like a very quirky little café. Inside it is decorated in a very old fashioned almost 1950s style with lots of “stuff” hanging from the ceiling etc. They have their own jams and goodies on sale. Then you go out the back and there is a wonderful garden with many tropical plants and fruit trees plus aviaries with tropical birds, all of them rescued. Lots of gorgeous parrots. The fruit trees were brimming with fruit, no wonder they make so much jam. Then you walk further back and there are enormous pyo fruit fields. Mangoes, strawberries and others. You would never guess all this was here just by seeing the little café. The reason it’s called The Girls is that a group of men opened a food market called The Boys. Then their wives opened The Girls. It has children’s areas too and would be lovely for a child’s party.
Did a little bit of shopping and then came back as it was coming in thundery . The rain is much needed here. Bob came back about 1 and we had lunch.
Facetimed with both girls. All s well at home. Apparently my white rambler rose is in full bloom out in the back garden. Daisy has taken some pictures for me which I will be pleased to see. This is the first year it has really come into bloom since we planted it. It is called Mdme. Alfred Carriere.
Buddy came over and we slow cooked brisket for dinner and then ice cream. A very nice family evening. Another good FT with Mike and Asher up in Boston. It’s a wonderful way to keep in touch.
