Neighbourly Meze Dinner

Another very hot, sunny day.  Not to rub it in if you area in a less clement part of the world… but the fact is…. it’s still in the 30C/90Fs here and not a cloud in the sky.  After breakfast lay around the pool and also wallowed a great deal.  The water temperature is 28C, not cold

Bob and David went off late morning for a shave and the full luxury Turkish barber experience.  Really nice and somewhere between £2 and £5.50.  Amazing.  Penny, Daisy and I enjoyed the pool and the floats.  Had lunch when the fellas got back and then spent the rest of the time, pegged out.

The pool guy came up in the morning to measure up to replace the sand in the sand filter.  He came back later and did the job which will help the pool keep sparkling clean,

We went out for a look around Mr Pound’s new store on the bypass road.  It is massive.  1 floor is conventional Mr Pound where everything costs…. well, not 1 Pound actually, more like 1 Pound 20.  The other two floors are Mr Pound + where prices are very cheap.  There’s a lot of tat of course but also a lot of very good bargains.  Daisy bought a good haul of hair and beauty products and 2 pairs of sunglasses, mostly from Mr Pound.  Bob bought a vice and I got some skin cream.  Penny bought some items and a squeaky chicken for Dexter.

In the evening we went out for dinner with our neighbours across the road and below us on the hill.  Went to Tervetuloa, a favourite of ours and we ate at a big round table in their lovely garden.  We were 11 because Christine and Mick have relatives, Steve and Dale, staying.  Had a very good evening.  The food is always amazing.  I had lamb chops (5) and it comes with a host of hot and cold mezes plus a dessert, coffee and brandy for the price of the meal which in my case was £8.  Daisy had chicken dolma which was a massive chicken breast stuffed with creamy cheese and breadcrumbed.  Hers was £7.  Bob had moussaka.  The company was on great form and we had a lovely evening.
