A Door Opens….. And Another Closes….

Well just as I was getting all excited about the UK removing quarantine for vaccinated Brits returning from Cyprus, Cyprus decides to turn the UK red and Re-impose quarantine for UK arrivals, vaccinated or not!!!! OK for homeowners returning because it’s home quarantine with a wristband but hardly the stuff of holiday dreams for regular tourists…… Delta variant is already here but I guess they don’t want to make it worse.

We had a lovely day at the Lord’s Palace Hotel. We just rented pool beds today £4 each and that gave us loungers, umbrellas, towels, service and access to the pools and sea. We had lovely curtained loungers with comfy cushions. Very swish. The pools are gorgeous – absolutely massive and pristine. We ran a tab and enjoyed coffee, water, margaritas and lunch. Not expensive at all.

Lucy and I had pedicures in the morning. Mine was long overdue. Very nice service and friendly girl. We had shellac and with tip it came to about £15 each. I would definitely go back. Its a branch of Chicago Club hair salon who are in Karaoglanoglu.

In the afternoon we went back to the spa for massages. Amazing. I had a tiny little Balinese girl who climbed all over my back. She had hands of iron! Brilliant. An hour of aromatherapy massage cost £23. I should go every week. It’s discounted Monday through Thursday.

Beautiful spa too. We had a short visit to the hammam and spa pool when we came out. Really nice. I really like these days at Lords. I hope we can come back again before we go.

Back home by 6pm. More dips in the pool – night swimming is just fabulous. We ate by the pool about 8ish – Bob’s Chinese fish dish. Very nice. Then we settled down to watch “The Mauretanian”. Very enjoyable.

Tomorrow we have numerous little errands to run in Kyrenia and it will be our first trip down to the harbour on this visit. That’s unbelievable, but true….. Then, tomorrow night we have a dinner reservation up at Etel Vineyard in the main restaurant. They also have live music in the wine bar and the lovely reservation man has saved us a table there too.
