We woke up with all good intentions to visit the Hill Palace Museum this morning…. but we were tired….. we weakened and spent the whole day by the pool! Shocking of us…. but it was a lovely thing to do….
As usual we were totally alone down there till about 4 when we were packing up when some of the other guests, mainly mums and kids turned up. A lovely restful day.
Got packed up. Bought another 5kg baggage from Emirates for tomorrow’s flight just to be sure. When we leave Dubai on Turkish we have 30kg each so that will be ok, but Emirates are only 25kg each and I know they are a bit hot on it…. Some good news is that our hotel in Fujairah have upgraded us to the Club floor so we will have access to the lounge there too.
The hotel offered us a packed breakfast as we are leaving at 0630 which is before the restaurant opens. Nice of them. Coffee, juice, muffin, egg sandwich. More than enough.
Tonight we went to the lounge and had a pre dinner drink with Joseph and Stella, a lovely Indian couple we have been chatting to in there since the first night. They have lived in the USA for 30 years, 26 in Florida and now in Austin, Texas. They have a daughter, married to her childhood sweetheart, an American, and now a grandson, so they are following them. Such lovely people. So jolly. They come every year. Have first 10 days in this hotel, which they love, and then visit relatives in Chennai, Mumbai and Kerala.
We gave the buffet a go tonight and it was very good. I finished with an ice cream and it was utterly yum. Went back to the lounge and had coffee and a nightcap with Joseph and Stella.
It’s been a lovely ending to our winter in India. Have had a fantastic 4 days down here in Kerala and there is so much more to explore. We were just a bit beaten by the heat and humidity in the end. Would heartily recommend a visit though…. Just pick a place with a pool.
