Beach and Live Music

We made a change and had breakfast at Sea front today. Bob wanted Puri Bhagi , the Indian breakfast, and I had my usual poached eggs on toast. Then we pegged out for the rest of the morning. Bob is a lot better but is sleeping a good deal, I suppose as his body concentrates on getting rid of the virus. We had a swim later. It was humid and quite cloudy today. Very unusual weather. The sun came out in the afternoon.

Bob had lemon pancakes for lunch and then went back to the flat about 2pm. I stayed on for about another 90 minutes and then came back too.

We ordered tuks for 6 to take us to the Art Resort in the Ourem area of Palolem. It’s a nice place, we often spend the day on the beach there. Anyway, the reason to go tonight was that the GoaTs were playing. They are a three piece band made up of our friend Mark and his friends Matthew and Mandolin Dave. They play the music of our youth ie songs up through the 80s….

The sunset didn’t look promising tonight – it was really hazy – but then lo and behold – we got a touchdown. A strange, rather eerie one but nonetheless, the real deal.

We got there early so we could eat – we’d reserved a table for 6 which was very necessary. The venue was rammed by 8 when they started playing. 5 – 7 was happy hour, 2 drinks for the price of 1 and we bth had 2 planters punches which were surprisingly strong and delicious. Then Bob had goat curry, a garlic butter naan and rice and I had grilled chicken marinaded in a ginger and orange marinade served with chips and naan. Very good portions and all delicious. I’m obviously not doing very well trying to lose weight!!!

Really enjoyed the GoaTs first set. Bob was looking a bit tired by then – nearly 9 – so we headed back for a last chat and nightcap at Eve’s. A really good day and glad to be feeling a lot better again. Just got to get Bob 100% now.
