Malta, Malta
The two old coots are back on their own!!!! We took Daisy to the airport yesterday morning for her 1245 flight. Sad to see her go but pleased she so obviously loved Malta. I’m sure we will holiday together again here in the future. We have a timeshare week every year and can also swap one of our other weeks to here to make a fortnight. We saw her plane go overhead from our balcony then went down to the pool and spent the rest of the day in the sun.
Decided that we wouldn’t dive any more now and rinsed out the wetsuits and let them dry overnight. This morning we drove over to Maltaqua and settled up with Agnes. It really is amazing value here. 12 euro per day for tanks and weights. And all the staff there are so nice. They really can’t do enough for you. The shore diving is so varied and generally with easy entries and exits. I am looking forward to seeing my underwater shots when I get home. They won’t be mega good because my external flash leaked so I had to rely on the in-camera one which is not powerful at all. Nonetheless it will be a good reminder.
Spent the afternoon by the pool again, thinking of Daisy back at work!!!! Packed up the gear which is all dry and had our last dinner in the apartment. Very glad we have our week here and we will use it a lot. This island really does have an enormous amount to offer. Even if you do not dive, a holiday here would be enjoyable.
So, tomorrow is quite civilised. We have checked in already for our BA flight which is at 1245. Breakfast here and then to the airport for 11. And home. To the Big Vote on Thursday. Which I am sure will be for Remain, but I will cast my vote for Leave. Not to mention the carpet cleaner coming at 0800 on Wednesday followed by the Oven Cleaner at 10am!!! Mole checks at the doctor on Thursday. And The Taming of the Shrew at Shakespeare’s Globe on Saturday. And I suppose there will be some thistles sprouting through the garden. If thistles were a pay crop we’d be rich men….
