Today we went back to Epcot with Danny, my American family nephew, for a very relaxed visit. He lives in Florida so he has a Florida Resident’s Pass and we have our 3 week tickets so there was no rush to do anything in particular. We had booked 3 Fastpass rides which were going to take up a lot of our activity.
But first to meet up. Parking at the parks is horrible. Well, horribly expensive that is: $20 per day (you can come and go to any of the parks once you’ve paid once, but even so….). Danny’s pass gives him complimentary parking, so we arranged to meet in the free carpark at the Disney Springs entertainment area and drive in using his car. This we did. Wow, he looks great and has lost soooo much weight using a combination of diet, exercise and slimming medicine from his doctor. Found it quite inspiring to keep going with my own diet.
Anyway, we had a great morning in the park, very relaxed time. Had some nibbles from the Food Festival, walked completely around the World Showcase…. a final ride on Soarin’, a great favourite. Left the park at about 230 and drove back to Disney Springs and had lunch there in a restaurant called. Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’. Really nice atmosphere with a very modern theme. I had there double burger with onion marmalade (no bun, should have been brioche) with a cucumber salad instead of fries. Bob had the special fried chicken (massive portion) with mash, gravy and fixings. Danny had a fish sandwich which was truly amazing, a really large portion of white fish.
Did a bit of a shop on the way home for a few things and then a nice quiet evening catching up on Doctor Foster!
