Holi, Colours, New Arrivals and A Boat Trip with Eagles – Travels with Allie.
Today was our last day in Dubai. The taxi will pick us up at 515am tomorrow morning. We are on the same Gulf Air flight as Daisy as far as Bahrain and then she will route on to London Heathrow and we fly to Istanbul with Gulf Air and then pick up a Turkish Airlines flight to Cyprus.
We spent the day at Jumeirah Islands Clubhouse, our new go-to pool location. It was boiling today – 33C – so there was a lot of time spent in the water and we had a great day. An absolute bargain of a place with lovely facilities and fantastic food from their Italian restaurant, Isola. Highly recommend it if you come to Dubai. PS it doesn’t play loud music!!!!
We’ve had the best time this last two weeks or so. Wonderful to spend so much time with Lu and to have Daisy with us. We are getting very familiar with Dubai now and we “know what to do”, which has made a stay here so much more enjoyable. We have our own favourite places as well as enjoying discovering new delights on every visit. Now that Lucy will likely be back in the UK full time from the summer, I don’t know when we’ll be back….. but I hope we do return. It’s a very safe place, very comfortable. And it doesn’t have to break the bank if you do a bit of research and take advantage of the discounts and deals available here.
Highlights of our trip for me were:
Dune bashing in Sharjah

Sailing on an Arab Dhow in the Musandam Peninsular and sleeping under the stars

Our beach club days at Drift in particular

Visiting Expo one last time before it ended

Dining creekside in Al Seef, Old Dubai

And enjoying the friendship and hospitality of Lucy and her friends here in Dubai who helped us make memories we shall never forget. You know who you are and we thank you all so much for including us in your fun.
