We spent today at Escape Beach which is somewhat less than a 10 minute drive from the villa. It’s one of the more developed beaches here but we like it because it has fabulous clear, clean water, lovely sand and a full range of services like, lockers, showers, loos and free wifi. It costs 150 tl each to use the facilities for the day including a sunlounger and umbrella. There is food and drink service to the sun loungers.

It was looking pristine today as they have only recently set up for the summer and all the umbrellas etc are brand new and look very spiffy. We set up camp right at the water’s edge. It was very quiet when we arrived at about 945 and stayed that way till lunchtime when some families turned up. It is definitely one of the best beaches for small children. Super safe and very very gently shelving sand.

The water was lovely but definitely colder than our pool at the moment. By October that will change to be the other way around. We had several dips today but not lengthy ones.

They have put some picnic tables into the shallows in a few places and we had lunch at one. Bob had a chicken burger and chips and I share a bit. It was nice. That and 2 litres of water came to about £11. Some gulets came and anchored off the bay for their lunch stop. Lovely day for a boat trip.

They are building something amazing at the headland on the western end of the bay where there used to be a nightclub. I suppose it could be another one or perhaps a restaurant. There are a number of terraces with very nice stone walls lining them and the pathways.

We came home about 3pm and rinsed off in the pool and sunbathed a bit there too. It was hot today and not much wind. About 25/26 with strong sun.
Paul, our fab electrician, called in first thing with our mended garden lantern. It had got water in it somehow over the winter and rusted up. Good to have the lights near the bbq fully functional again.
Tonight Bob cooked us pan fried duck breast with peas a la Francais, and some boiled Cyprus potatoes. Delicious. Lovely evening still. Then we started catching up on TV. I must say our new tv system continues to delight. No buffering. Everything we want to watch and more.
