Sea Day Heading North

We had a pretty good night’s sleep and when we woke up about 0730 (French time) we were in the Channel to he east of Margate. The wind had dropped significantly and there was no motion at all.

Went up to the buffet restaurant for breakfast. Normally, I don’t bother but I thought I would give it a try…. just for the sake of reporting, you understand. Anyway, it was a good experience, quite peaceful (around 0915) and no queuing or crowding. There was a good choice of hot and cold food, pastries, full English items.

We had been invited to a special loyalty club event in the theatre at 1045 so we went along to that. The free prosecco was on flow and we were treated to a welcome from the cruise director, the loyalty club staff and the ship’s officers. Then we had a 20 minute show from the dancers, the dance professionals and a pair of acrobats/circus performers. The aerial artists were really good and we enjoyed that.

Plonked down in our cabin and read till lunch. They have delivered us slippers, robes and later this afternoon we got a bottle of prosecco, 2 little tins of chocolates and a plate of macaroons!!!! I could get used to this.

Also took lunch in the buffet. I just had some fish gougons again. They were so nice yesterday. Bob had chilli with guacamole and soft tacos.

After lunch we plonked down in one of the lounges and read our books and then at 3 we went to Masterchef at Sea. This is a game show licensed by the tv show especially for MSC. It starts with a 10 question quiz and the top 6 people from that have to do a food challenge on the stage. Well.. I’m ashamed to say that we found the questions really hard and I think we only got 7 right. So no food challenge for us.

This ship has lots of really big mirrors all over the place including our cabin! Bob had a funny experience after the gameshow. He dashed into the nearest Gents in somewhat of a hurry and as he went through the door he jumped back as a man came racing towards him. Then he realised…. it was himself in a great big mirror opposite the door!!!!

Tonight we went to the the theatre show which featured the troop giving a show based around songs from Divas, so Cher, Aretha Franklin, Tina Turner, Adele, Christina Aguilera, Shania Twain. It was another cracker of a show. Really spectacular.

We had dinner in the buffet tonight which was good and then went for a drink in the wine bar and stayed on for a general knowledge quiz. Good fun but we didn’t win. Tonight we are somewhere off Bremerhaven, prior to arriving in Hamburg first thing tomorrow morning.
