Today was our last day on Patnem Beach this year. It’s gone so fast…. next year we will undoubtedly come for longer. This year, the irresistible lure of our daughter on maternity leave with our lovely first grand daughter has lured us home early. Even braving the hideous utility bills we normally dodge. Such is the draw of a sweet baby, so much longed for…..
Anyway, we breakfasted at Sea Front – tomato and cheese omelette for me and then settled to a morning of swimming and chatting. At lunchtime Bob retreated to the shack as usual and had lunch and then played canasta till 3pm when he came back for a last sea swim. We left the beach at about 345, got a tuk, picked up our laundry and headed home. Said all our farewells to Rocky and the boys, Amelia and her daughter.
Showered off. Thought a bit about packing and then met everyone at Eve’s to tuk to Palolem for dinner at Dropadi.
Still the best restaurant in the area for me at least . They excel on every aspect. Bob and I shared a king prawn masala, a garlic naan, lemon rice and a chicken balti. Absolutely delicious. We were 10 around the table and had a great night. The waiters all shook our hands at the end and bade us “come back next year for longer”!!
Had a nightcap at Eve’s, bade everyone there a fond farewell, lots of hugs. It’s been a great stay this year and we do look forward to returning.
