After several pleasant days in Middleton on Sea with friends Mick and Maureen, the day has finally come to set off. We got the train to Gatwick airport and checked into the Bloc Hotel. This is a first for us. It is actually within the South Terminal so mega convenient. We checked in and went to our room. Interesting. A cross between the Japanese Pod idea and the Premier Inn. The room is very compact but in many ways super comfortable. Very comfy bed, great towels, wet room with products, flat screen tv. All the room controls are worked from a tablet set into the wall. And it seems quiet. Would definitely stay here again especially as it was a mere £57.We are flying Thomas Cook in the morning so they have an overnight bag check in. After dropping our stuff in the room we took our checked bags back downstairs and said goodbye to them and received our boarding cards for the morning flight. So in the morning all we have to do is come down two flights in the elevator and go through the security line. Excellent arrangement.
I can’t pretend I am particularly looking forward to the flight tomorrow but it has the benefit of being direct to Goa. We take off at 0920 UK time and we land at five past midnight.. So we should get to the Tubki Resort in Patnem by 230am latest. Fingers crossed.
So, ahead lies 2 and a half months in Patnem, Goa. Read along to see what we are up to and maybe it will give you ideas for a holiday there too.
