Our Last Day in Cyprus

It had to come in the end!  Our last day in Cyprus, this trip.  And the weather did not disappoint.  The wind had dropped away and the sun and heat was there in full blast.

We had an early start!  Up at 515 to see Joseph and Janet off on the next stage of their trip: a couple of days in Istanbul.  We were sad to see them go….. Visiting Istanbul either on the way out or the way home is one of the added benefits of a holiday here.  One of our favourite cities: so much to see and so many wonderful little hotels and restaurants.  We’ve been quite a few times and never get tired of it.

Bob and I had a few packing away jobs to do this morning and then he dropped me at Amore in Lapta for a facial while he went off to put money on our water meter card.  You prepay for water here and the card uploads the credit to the meter.  My facial was very nice, another CACI one, and obviously I came out looking 10 years younger.

Lunch on the terrace and then several hours in and around the pool.  Habibi came up at 4 and did a few hours of gardening and I paid him for up to the end of June.  He had a big hack at some of the climbers and shrubs.  Looking very neat now.  So pleased with the progress of the garden since he took charge.

Mick and Christine, our across road neighbours, called in to say goodbye which was lovely.  We are very lucky in our neighbours.

Last g&ts on the terrace and then down to the Dogus Adres restaurant in Karaoglanoglu.  Try saying that after a couple of cocktails!!!!  We really like this restaurant, on the site of our all time favourite restaurant.  Such amazing value.  We got a great little meze, hot and cold.  My main course was a fillet steak in a stilton and mushroom sauce.  It was absolutely delicious.  Fi had pepper steak which she said was much better than the one at Silver Rocks last night, and she’d really enjoyed that.  Bob had the mixed kebab which was epic.  Stuart had grilled wild sea bass.  All lovely.  After that we were turned loose on the dessert buffet.  I had ice cream.  Followed up by the usual Turkish coffees.  About £15 each including a bottle of wine, beers and water.  Plus a wonderful table location waterside.  Well worth a visit.  The chips are to die for.

Have had the most amazing stay here this time.  So much done in the villa, really good enhancements which we are very pleased with.  And then a series of great visitors, much fun and good company.  Can’t wait to come back in September.
