Had a good night’s sleep in the bungalow at the Eagle’s Nest and enjoyed the sound of the sea below us. We’d settled up the night before because they don’t open tll 12 so no breakfast….. they did however bring coffee and tea to the room the night before. Unfortunately not milk or sugar though which didn’t matter to me but was a voyage of discovery for Bob. As I said, a few details to be ironed out still here but we would definitely come again in the summer months and stay over again.
We motored slowly back along the coast road about 9am. The sea was like a millpond today and lovely bright sun. We stopped for breakfast at Tim’s cafe and bar in Ozankoy. An excellent full English and poached eggs on toast for me. They apparently do a very good Sunday Lunch and pie, mash and liquor on a Friday.
Went up into the village of Ozankoy to the famous butcher’s shop to stock up on some meat. As usual a good welcome and the offer of coffee. We bought a load of his fabulous cumberland sausages, 2 big thick pork chops, some chicken and a tray of sheftali and some bacon.
Home by lunchtime and Bob went off to play canasta and I read around the pool and watered the garden. We are considering buying a mature olive tree that must be relocated so am price comparing with the nurseries. it is pointless to buy a small one as we will never live to see it fruit much!!!!!! The one we are looking at must be 100 years old and is very gnarly. Will mak a deciion in the next few days.
Caught up on Bake Off, Shetland and started a new series called Close to Me.
