Lovely last day. Hot but very windy. We packed in the morning and then Bob went off to canasta club at the Blue Song. I spent the afternoon around the pool, multiple dips….. Lovely.

In the evening we met Pamela and Eddie, Deborah and David at the Blue Song. Deborah and David only just arrived so it was great that we crossed. Had a lovely meal and very much chat. I had lamb chops. On reflection, I haven’t eaten them nearly as often this time as I normally do!!!!
We were up at 0430 on Friday for our flights. Bid the house a sad farewell at 515 and drove to Catalkoy, to our drop off meeting with Ozzie. He drove us to Ercan airport and the beginning of our journey home. We were flying with Pegasus Airlines and had a first flight to Istanbul and then another on to Stansted. There was just an hour in Istanbul. It all went flawlessly, we had the same boarding pass for both flights. Our seats were in row 3 (same seats for both flights) and we were so lucky in that we had 3 seats between us. I had the window and Bob the aisle with an empty seat between us. Managed to doze most of the way which was good after that early start. We were impressed with Pegasus. It’s been a while since we flew with them, but this time the price differential withh Turkish Airlines was too big to ignore and the flight connections were much better. We are flying with them again in the autumn.
Arrived at Stansted to sunshine and 18C which was lovely. We were home in Hawkinge for 1615 and found the house all fine. Had a lovely email last night from the guests who move into Villa Rockheart tomorrow. They’d arrived in Kyrenia and were in a hotel but had driven up to the house yesterday (in a car supplied by Ozzie) to make sure they knew the route. They are uniting the whole family there from Saturday – 2 babies as well. We wish them a fantastic stay.
Already looking forward to our own return in September.
