Our last day in the villa for a week. A dear old friend who I’ve known since junior school – yes, a VERY long time – asked to book for his family including grandchildren. How could I say no? LOL. Anyway it gave us an excuse to go off and explore somewhere before we settle to the autumn jobs…. We are booked into a lovely little boutique hotel in the walled old city of Famagusta for the week on b&b. https://www.booking.com/hotel/xy/la-regina-veneziana.en-gb.html We have lots of plans for the week and luckily the forecast is just amazing. Sunny and hot all week. Lots of beaches here we come!

Today was actually boiling too. Hotter than it’s been for a while. We packed up our stuff in the morning – stuff that we’re taking, stuff that needs to go away ie toolkits…. and then spent the rest of the time by the pool. Ah… Bob watched the England vs South Africa rugby match which was a little sorrowful but also worthy of pride in that they so very nearly won…. It obviously exhausted him as he then slept for about 2 hours floating in the pool.
Tonight we had a final bbq ready for the off in the morning. Really nice burgers from Sokmar supermarket – a new butcher to us. And the last of our Tesco Finest sausages…. sigh…. It’s a beautiful night. Crescent moon over the mountains and pool, still hot enough to be sleeveless…. it’s just over a week till November. This is a brilliant place.

As we move out, the cleaning team move in to ready the house for our new guests. I hope they have as brilliant a time as we’ve had over the last few weeks.
