We’ve had a quiet couple of days – just ourselves and Joseph and Janet left of our gang. Bob and I have run a few errands – made dental appointments for Daisy and myself next week at the Palolem Dental centre and otherwise just enjoyed the beach and sea. Here’s a picture of our gang at Sea Front before the Great Shrinking began!

On Friday night we went into Palolem with Joseph and Janet and ate at Nireas, the healthy eating restaurant. It has a nice atmosphere and I like the food. I had a dish of dal, vegetables and quinoa. Bob had a chicken burger, Joseph had a veggy burger and Janet had a vegetable poke bowl. All very nice.
Came back from the beach yesterday to find Pamela, Eddie, Deborah and David enjoying cold drinks in the bar, having returned from their trip to Hampi. Sounds like they really enjoyed it, seeing the ruins, scenery and staying at Boulders. Things have changed there . No more little ferry – there’s a bridge across the river, no Laxshmi, the temple elephant and the river very low. I guess that’s the dam that has created the reservoir lake…… Anyway, nice to see their photos and remember our trips to Hampi. And to have them back.

Last night we went to Ciarans in Palolem for dinner and to enjoy the music of Love Affair, the Italian duo. They were very pleased to see us as usual. We had a lovely evening and enjoyed their music. They play such a great selection of songs. Some real favourites. I had a king fish slice with vegetables and I have to say it was the worst king fish I have had. Sliced extremely thin and it actually had bones in it. That’s a first. Bob had the vegetable lasagne and it was very good. Back to the roast pork for me next time.

Slightly stressful – well, very stressful – end to the evening with calls from Daisy en route to Gatwick for her Air India flight to Goa. She noticed in the cab to Clapham Junction where she was getting the train to the airport that her birthdate on the AI API was wrong – the date was 10th, not 01st . She googled whether this was a problem and apparently it will result in denial of boarding if not corrected. She rang AI but they couldn’t help. So great concern as to what check in would bring. Luckily by the time we got home to Eve’s she had checked in – it was fast – and the check in agent had corrected it for her. Her visa and passport all matched in every particular so it was just the passenger info on Air India. Phew. She rewarded herself by paying £25 to go in the lounge where she wolfed down 2 plates of food and some wine!!!! The flight left on time and currently she is about 2 hours out. Can’t wait to see her later.
