We’ve had a few good, relaxed beach days in Patnem with Daisy and the gang. The weather is very still and hot – full moon – the sea is calm.
Yesterday we had a lot of swimming and wallowing. Daisy ate a huge breakfast, then calamari for lunch and then fell asleep most of the afternoon. She’d slept so much on the plane.

Last night we wandered down to the beach for dinner at Casa Fiesta and stopped in Chim on the way. They had a lot of nice clothes and some great if expensive bikinis. Daisy got an amazing bargain and scooped up a tiny bikini reduced to £6.50!!! Brilliant.
Nice dinner at Casa Fiesta. They gave us a twofer on cocktails. I had chicken hariyali. Daisy had a swordfish steak in a cheese and garlic creamy sauce. And of course some people had the fish pollichattu.

Today Bob, David and Eddie went off to play golf at the Lalit, also meeting David’s friend from the UK who came down from Colva. They had a lovely time and Bob had his best round yet. Not last this time.

Daisy and I had breakfast at Sea Front and then a day on the beach with everyone else. Very hot again. Lots of swims. She wore her new bikini. It’s really different and looks great.

Came back to the hotel about 4pm and Daisy changed to her permanent room which is on the garden side and it will be quieter and with a lovely view of the trees. She can properly unpack now.
Tonight we all ate at Cow Corner. It was well named. There was a big cow standing outside gazing in through the kitchen window! We had a lovely table under the trees, quite a few Tickle gins and plenty of food. Daisy and I both had the chicken steak with mushroom sauce – it is just divine. Bob took the opportunity to grab a bowl of the pork goulash with dumpling. Generally that gets sold out but he was lucky tonight. We had a lovely evening with such good company.
