Slept very well and woke up after 8am to a brilliant sunshiney day outside. Blue skies, light breeze and views to die for in every direction.

We went down to Alan and Lesley’s about 10am and walked our boundary and mutual landslide. Started to make some ideas for the eventual outcome but we need to get quotes and assess practicalities. In the short term Bob and I will need to erect a fence across the gap in order to make it secure. Had a lovely coffee and a catch up.
From there , we scooped up the chair cushions from the poolside dining area and took them to Mermaid fabrics for recovering. They did them last time and I must say did an amazing job which has lasted well against, sunlight, chlorine swimsuits and the odd bit of wind and rain. Chose a nice blue stripe pattern strong cotton which I hope will take us on again. They will have them ready in about 2.5 weeks.
Then we drove back into Kyrenia to Gunray’s office and paid up for our car rental. (1) Facebook Such a lovely couple that own it. We have known Ozzie for years and he’s never let us down.
After that we went to the hospitals to price up/assess the full health check ups. Our preferred hospital is Dr Suat Gunsel University Hospital but their prices had rocketed up by well over double for the same series of tests. We then went to Kamiloglu Hospital where we have also been many times and their prices had barely risen. We decided to have the initial tests done there and then go to the other hospital if we needed anything done or a second opinion. In particular we are keen for Bob to get some opinions on his kidney situation and possibly a prescription for the new drugs just available in the uk.
A call in to Turkcell, near Starlings, to get our phone sims sorted out. They do a great tourist package for about £10 to £15 per 30 days for masses of local and international call time and data. Then a quick call into Starlings and up the hill for a bit of lunch by 130.

In the afternoon, Bob repaired the curtain rod in our bedroom which was quite old and a bit sensitive. I went round and put all our bits and bobs out around the place – lol my handcrafted masterpieces and things picked up on our travels… Tested all the lights and found a few bulbs out.. nothing much at all. Not a lot of jobs for Bob this time.

Tonight we had our first bbq – just some burgers, sweet peppers and a risotto of Lebanese bulgar wheat, onion and spices. Ate it beside the pool. What an enormous pleasure to eat outside!!! Thank god somewhere has some good weather….. We finished with some fresh local strawberries. Amazing great haul at £2.50 for a KILO!!!!! Breakfast sorted…..
Everything is so beautiful and green around us this time of year. It really is a fabulous time to come to Cyprus.
Wow, what an amazing view. The mountains look absolutely beautiful. Spring has sprung.
