Yesterday was a complete write off for me because I woke up with an excrutiating migraine that took hours to even slightly subside and then left me feeling sick and washed out for the rest of the day.
Bob got on with some jobs in between applying cold flannels to my fevered brow. It was incredibly windy yesterday and it’s still blowing today. Bright sun, blue sky and temperatures in the upper 20s but not a day to be at sea.
Felt a lot better this morning so we cracked on again. Put all the sun loungers out around the pool and took the sad decision that 3 of our heritage wooden ones had reached the end of their time with us. We’ve put them to the road in the hope some passer by will see them and want to restore them. There is very little to do in the house this visit. It’s in great shape so not many “jobs for Bob”. We have got the big job of closing the gap in the hedge and also the garden watering hoses will need patching and replacing. They get so brittle over time and it’s a constant job.
Unpacked the things we brought out from home – new pool/beach towels, and Daisy has given us some new dvds to add to the literal hundreds we have. We now have Barbie, Where the Crawdads Sing, Elvis, Babylon, Teenage Mutant Ninga Turtles, Spiderman The Way Home and a lot more. The tv system also has 1000s of on request films. Not that we want to encourage our guests to sit inside watching the box, but it’s nice as an amusement for the children while you get the bbq going or enjoy a quiet sundowner on the dining terrace.

You can tell its been a wet winter here. The garden has grown so much. It’s all looking lovely. At its best this time of year before the real dry heat of the summer kicks in.
