Massively busy day today! We were up quite early and down to Ali’s Hairdresser in Alsancak, in the same strip as Soulist Cafe and Turk Bank. Ali is just a brilliant cutter of hair. It’s not easy to precision cut short hair for women and he can do it. And it cost me £15 including tip. Unbelievable. I am really pleased with the result.
After that we headed into Kyrenia to SmileCare dentist. We have gone there for years. I was just having a scale and polish i.e hygienist appointment but it was with the dentist. Wowzer… a pretty intense treatment but good to get done and at about £35, a good price, if not on a par with Indian pricing.
After that…..on to the other side of Kyrenia, to Mermaid fabrics to pick up the covers for the dining chairs beside the pool. These are full-size cushions, not just backs or seat pads. The whole cost for 6 was £110 in fabulous fabric. They should take us on years, as the last lot did.
We had bit of lunch at Tim’s cafe quite nearby. Bob in particular loves it there. I had 2 fried eggs and 2 sausages plus water. Bob had a toasted coronation chicken sandwich with chips and a Sprite. All lovely especially the chips. Bob’s sandwich was massive with loads of chicken. Cost about a tenner for everything.
We had to be at Kamiloglu hospital for 2 for Bob’s session with the urology consultant. He went through the blood, ultrasound and urine results and also -poor Bob – a physical exam – and then went through the results in detail. He was actually massively encouraging and prescribed new tablets, plus wants to see him again in September. After that Bob saw the orthopaedic guy and looked at his arthritic thumbs. He gave bob a cortizone injection into one thumb and will see him again in September. These extra consultations cost £25 each and, reflect, they were booked with minimum notice. I can’t encourage you enough to come here if you want a vast range of health checks done. You then have the option to have paid treatments here – but cheaper -or return home and get NHS treatment when you can, at least knowing what you need.
Came home… a bit knackered…and it was very hot today. We placed our new cushion covers – look great. Then … frankly….. we stripped off and jumped in the pool for a swim. So hot today. It was absolutely fantastic to be able to do that in the total confidence, we are not overlooked. So lucky.
Tonight Bob bbqd for us. Beefburgers, red sweet papers…. coffee etc etc. Beautiful night. We are the luckiest people to have this fabulous place….
