Well we are both in the wars. Bob’s thumb where he had the cortisone injection is now agony, as he was warned it would be once the local anaesthetic wore off. Hopefully it will be better tomorrow. And I managed to rip off a finger nail, way down the nail bed ……. I was booked in for a manicure today anyway but now was dreading it a bit.. it was a bit sore. I was going to a new salon because the one I normally frequent next to The Soulist Bar seems to have gone to the wall over the winter. I found the Merin Beauty Salon in Alsancak so had booked in there. It’s right opposite Acmenya restaurant. They gave me a very good manicure including mending my poor broken nail and gave me a nice lilac polish which will go with my dress for my friend’s son’s wedding on Saturday. No one will be able to tell the horror that lurks beneath the polish.. Wow… can’t believe we’ll be back in the UK by Friday evening. It’s all gone so fast.
It was very hot again today low 30s. Habibi and 2 colleagues arrived just before 830 and began work on the rest of the fence. They finished about 11 while I was still out. Nothing is going to look as nice as our hedge, but it is a good job and it blends in and provides security and most importantly, privacy, until we can get some new growth down there.
I got back at about 1130 and we were going to go to the beach for the afternoon but we decided to stay by the pool instead. It’s reasonable temperature in there now and we had quite a few swims.
Had a message from a friend in the UK who’d read about our health checks and she and her husband have booked to come out in June so that they can avail themselves of them. Unfortunately it’s a Bayram week here so Kamiloglu is only doing emergency work but they are booked in at Dr Suat Gunsel hospital, the very amazing one instead. That too is unavailable for several days but they process the results same day so it doesn’t matter if the test date is later. They are more expensive but on the other hand they offer a much more comprehensive series of tests and personal consultations so it’s money well spent. Absolutely state of the art hospital too. Spotless and shining.
