We’ve spent the last 2 days at the beach. Golden Bay beach to be exact . It shares the small bay with the Deniz Kizi hotel but the Golden Bay side is run by the council.
We’ve found it to be possibly better than the Deniz Kizi side. Certainly cheaper. It’s 300tl for parking, 2 loungers, an umbrella, waiter service and 2 free soft drinks . That’s £6.70. Total. Not each. There’s loos and cafes. All the facilities.
Anyway we chose it because the last couple of days have seen a NNE breeze – force 4. At Golden Bay you can tuck into the eastern headland and be totally sheltered. There are nice loungers and umbrellas there on a terrace of AstroTurf.
The sea has been a bit bouncy but warm and we’ve been in multiple times a day. Yesterday we had brunch in the beach cafe. Massive English breakfast for Bob and I had a cheese and tomato omelette which was also quite a plateful. Today we took a pack up – big cheese and tomato baguettes and some paprika crisps . Yum.
Temperatures are now around the 25C mark during the day. Feeling hotter because of the sun strength. I guess we have a few more weeks of beaching ahead before autumn really sets in.
