The Squits…. Cocktails and Pizza

Well….. Tuesday night shortly after I’d finished my blog to you, I was overtaken by griping stomach pain and a disturbed night of multiple trips to the loo…. So Wednesday turned into a day spent in our apartment so as to be in the cool and not too far from our own private “facilities”. Bob looked after me splendidly, feeding me eggs on toast and yogurt and by the evening it was all over. No idea what caused it. Could have been heat: dehydration; something I ate, something I touched…..

Today we were back to normal and had a fab day on the beach. The sea was limpid and we had a lot of bobbing dips. I read a lot and Bob played rumicube in the shack in the afternoon.

Tonight we took a tuk to Boomshanka bar in Colomb bay. A favourite sundowner spot that faces the sunset across a rocky cove. We just beat an army of people heading down the lane toward it and secured a waterfront table with Joseph, Janet and Hilary. I had a Passage to India cocktail for about £1.90 and the others all had Black Russians, similar price. They were mega strong. Bob and I had seconds… Yikes. The sunset started well and then faded into dusky cloud. No touchdown.

We wandered down to Magic View for 7 and met Gloria, Kirsty and Frances. Had a lovely dinner. I had gorgonzola pasta – can never get past that on the menu. Bob had margarita pizza with king prawns. Others had vegetable pizzas. They were exceptionally good and the price was about £14 per couple with more drinks and tips. Service was ok too.

Came back to the flat and had a video phone call with Stuart and Fi. Wish they were here.
