Goan Pamper Days And…… Pie!

If you’ve been reading along, you’ll have gathered that life here is pretty relaxed.  It is.   The big decision of the day is where we are going to eat dinner!  It’s very important.

Yesterday Bob and I went to Palolem for the day and ended up at the Art Resort .   It’s tucked right up against the south headland and in a peaceful spot. Well..  Peaceful for Palolem.

We like the Art Resort. The sunbeds are really comfortable with thick mattresses . We’d forgotten they don’t give you towels but it was OK .  I had a lovely massage late morning in their little spa that cost £14 for an hour.   Got rid of a few creaks.

When I got back to Patnem I went to the little salon opposite Eves and had a full pedicure with gel polish.   Good leg massage and dry skin removal.  It was £16.50 with tip.  Amazing.

Last night we ate with Joseph, Kirsty and Janet at a family place called Rama’s just across the road from Eves.  It was very much a family place.  Cooking out of the home and eating in the garden.  Not somewhere we would normally go to be honest but we had been intrigued because it was always full when we passed.  So… It was fish.   No menu.  You could have a fish thali or panfried fish..  You could choose kingfish, Prawns, mackerel or pomfret for either dish.   Kirsty had fried pomfret.

Joseph, Bob and I had prawn thali.  Janet had kingfish thali.  And we had chapatis and beer.  Beer was the only alcoholic choice.  The food was ok.  A bit overcooked in my opinion.   Kirsty’s pomfret was the best.  It was incredibly cheap.  Our bill for 2 thalis, 2 beers and 2 chapatis was £5.95.

Afterwards we went for Honey Bees with the rest of the gang at  Eves.

This morning I took the laundry down to Amelias.  She was very pleased to see us back. Spent the day at Sea Front.

It was hot and windy in the afternoon. This evening we went over to Nada Brahma with John and Susan at about 6pm to watch the sunset and then meet with Chris and Heather for PIE NIGHT!!!! This is justly famous and the pies sell out so you have to go early.

We were there before 6 so we got Happy Hour and each had 2 margaritas for about £3. Not each. They were strong too. The sunset was lovely. I got two great sun-ball pictures and then missed the coloured sky because we were chatting. However here are my pix with no editting involved.

The pies were amazing. Bob and I both had the steak and ale. Others had chicken and leek. There was also a vegetarian choice of vegetables and cheese. Just gorgeous. Our bill for 4 margaritas, 2 pies with mash and vegetables was £18.

Came back to Eves with Chris and had a honey bee and much chat. Another lovely Patnem day.
