BBQ Dinner

We had friends up for a bbq dinner last night. Bob made chicken and pineapple skewers with rice and butter chicken curry. It was really good and we ate out beside the pool. Mick and Christine who used to own the house across the road from Villa Rockheart are on holiday here at the moment and they came up, along with Pamela, Deborah and David. It was a very convivial evening. John was barman and kept everyone very well topped up.

I made grilled peaches with honey and black pepper served on grilled brioche. Or as near to brioche as I could get out here. The only sweet bread I could find was something the baker called African bread. It wasn’t anywhere near as successful as brioche, didn’t really want to toast at all. Never mind, the peaches were good.

It’s such a lovely thing to eat dinner outside and be able to plan a bbq in the certainty there will be no rain. Our friend, David (not the one who came to dinner) built our bbq years ago when he was on holiday here, and it’s still going strong. We use it a lot when we’re here and our guests enjoy it too.
