Marbella, Spain and Canary Islands
Woke up with an absolutely stinking migraine. Took two paracetemols and went back to sleep with an icepack on my head!! Bob had an early round at Miraflores Golf Club. He said it was a really beautiful course and he thoroughly enjoyed the round. No encounters with fences this time and he went round in 100 so pretty good. By the time he got back I was feeling more like it and having a wallow in the Jacuzzi. We had a quick lunch on the terrace and then Daisy and I went down to the pool. Bob came down later. It was very hot. I tried to keep in the shade because I still wasn’t feeling 100%. Think I got a bit too much sun yesterday and didn’t drink enough water.
Came back about 5, showered and drove down to Marbella. Parked up in the old town near the little park. Walked around the narrow streets, alleys and squares looking in all the shops. Most of them were on sale, it being the end of the season. Daisy loved it. I surprised myself by buying a lovely beach cover up and an embroidered beach bag. Will be great for Goa. Marbella style is very Indian but at about 30 times the price LOL. So pretty in the old town.
We had a dinner reservation down on the sea front at a place called Coco Rico, a new one for us. Well what a great find. Run by a French couple and with wonderful food at a great price. They gave us a table overlooking the sea and were so welcoming. I started with salmon tartare as did Bob. Daisy had beef carpaccio. All excellent. Ah, also they gave us an amuse of tapenade. For mains I had a ribeye steak with chips and béarnaise sauce. Bob had scallops with orange sauce, avocado and mango; Daisy had lobster and langoustine ravioli. All of them were absolutely fantastic. Daisy;s pasta was particularly gorgeous. Bob and I were done at this point but Daisy had the chocolate fondant which was epic. One of the best ever. All this,, coffees, a beer, bottle of water, 3 bread baskets, 4 glasses of wine came to 67e. A huge bargain especially given the location. Will have to go back there again next time.
Daisy discovered as the evening wore on that she had burnt her bum! Talk about a baboon’s bum….. A study in Scarlet. Very painful and I sprayed her with antiseptic spray when we got home LOL
Such a good day. Tomorrow is our last and we fly home at 11pm. It’s been a great week.
