Out and About in Patnem

Our third week has begun and the tans are ratcheting up now. Sorry to the rest of the gang joining us over the next few weeks! We are going to look like different species by then.

Our slow and steady approach is continuing: beach days and different night time activities. Stuart is still struggling with a bad sore throat and cough and has been in the hotel for the last couple of days. He snapped some monkeys that invaded our balcony – swinging through the palm trees. They chucked our chair cushions about and smashed a pot!! Good job we always keep the sliding glass doors shut.

We went to the beach cinema on Monday night to see She Said an excellent film about the two female journalists who broke the Harvey Weinstein story. It was really, really good. I recommend it if you can catch it on dvd or online. So much better than last week’s. I had another Build Your Own Salad and Bob had the most enormous beef burger. It was huge.

Today Joseph, Janet, Joe and Gloria went to Agonda for the day. Its two big bays north of here. We stayed in Patnem another day as Stuart is still hors de combat. Its a public holiday today and maybe tomorrow for Republic Day. The hotel is full with visitors running into the weekend.

Tonight we walked down to Cow Corner and had dinner there. It is so pretty in the garden. Several of us had the chicken schnitzel, Fi had the chicken steak with mushroom sauce, Bob had pork goulash, Janet, Joe and Joseph had veggie options. All was very good. Stuart and Joe both ordered the chocolate mousse dessert which was 3 layers of milk, white and dark chocolate with coconut. Hugely rich. We all had to help them out!!!!!

Walked back to Eve’s for a nightcap and Joe gave us his Tam O’Shanter which was lovely.
