A lovely relaxing day around the villa and the pool. We inflated 2 more of our larger pool floats and took to the water. Had a lovely Cypriot style meze lunch on the terrace. We love to sit out there and enjoy a range of small plates of food.
Today was John’s birthday and to celebrate we went to the Etel Vineyard hotel for dinner. There are 2 restaurants in the hotel and we had a reservation in the fine dining restaurant. It was busy up there and we sat out on the terrace. The menu was absolutely fantastic – very much better than our last visit a few years ago. It all sounded amazing and was difficult to choose.










I started with a steak tartare on a bed of potato feuillete and dots of truffle sauce. Other choices were chicken liver pate and prawn dishes. For mains I had a king prawn dish which had fantastic sauce and there was a dry aged steak and a scallop and prawn with black pasta dish. Superb food and great service. I should mention the wine. We chose one of their reds – Terra – which I particularly like. It was a spectacular evening – not cheap but very good value for a special occasion.
