A few days of beach living. Daisy is getting very brown – browner than in years.
Last night we had dinner at Casa Fiesta and some very nice cocktails. Mike and Linda are enjoying the beach and the food. Good to have their company and hear about their travels in the Far East.

Today Bob went into Chaudi to get cash and then he went to the barbers and had a haircut, a shave and a back trim – cost just a few pounds. I went to the beach with Daisy but then at 1pm the word went round that today was the day the police were checking the beaches for sun loungers and umbrellas. Dont ask! Not entirely sure if its the shacks not paying for the honour of having things on the sands, or if its just a basic shake-down….. but its gone on as long as we’ve been coming to Goa. There will be one day when the word goes around that they’re coming and then it’s like an ant hill…. the guys all run around carrying off the loungers… the umbrellas…. even the rather permanent straw topped ones…..
I was having to leave the beach at 2 for my dental appointment anyway. Daisy set up a towel camp at the water’s edge and stayed down all day. She is really going for a safe tan this year.
I went back to Eve’s, showered off, met, Bob and we went off to Agonda to the cosmetic dentistry practice of the Palolem clinic we more normally attend. I have a bottom incisor that hs been discoloured for a long time plus had a big chip in top. They had suggested a veneer to correct it. When the dentist looked,, she thought it had been caused by collision with a crown on my upper incisor – I have no idea. Anyway, she veneered the bottom tooth and then kept testing and correcting the bite. In the end she adjusted the upper crown and also corrected a tiny chip in one of my upper front teeth. The veneer cost £95 and the corrections to the upper teeth cost £40. It all took about an hour, no need for anaesthetic and no pain involved at all. To say i am delighted with the results is an understatement. She’s done a fantastic job. I might have more done on future visits. My crowns are over 40 years old now and the modern ones are much better – no metal involved. She does them for about £150 per tooth. So much cheaper than the UK.
Dinner on the beach at Sea Front tonight. A nice sunset. Fabulous palak paneer for me. Nice day.
