We’ve had a bit of celebrating to do over the past couple of days. Sunday was Eddie’s birthday but we seemed to start the party on Saturday night when we had dinner on the beach at Tantra. We watched the sunset and enjoyed twofer cocktails…. maybe a little too well! Definitely some unsteady gaits when we made the return journey to Eve’s.

Sunday night we went to Ciaran’s in Palolem for the birthday dinner. We had a fab night – roast pork was popular – and Eddie generously provided us with 2 great flagons of fruity sangria. It was delicious and not heavy like the ones I’d had in Spain. A good night was had by all.

Today (Monday) was Mike’s birthday. We started at Boomshanka at 6pm. Nice sunset but not a touchdown….. We had 2 rounds of sangria which was delicious. Thanks to Mike for the sangria. Then at 730 we (slightly) staggered down the path to Magic View. We had reserved a table for 7 and it is a mark of how much this restaurant has fallen in the local ratings, that we had no problem and in fact it was almost deserted. I had gorgonzola pasta with extra parmesan – it was deliciously cheesy but perhaps not sufficiently gorgonzola… Daisy had an amazing quattro formaggi pizza, Bob had spaghetti vongole – so many clams…. It was a delicious dinner – we were all stuffed by the end. More drinks. We got tuks back to Eve’s and they were very much Mr Toad’s Wild Ride… lurching from pillar to post, jolting over pot holes and round corners. A really enjoyable, fun, evening.

The weather has been very hot and we’ve been sheltering under our sunshades. The sea has been swelly but we’ve been out there jumping the waves anyway. We only have one week to go now before we head south to Cochin in Kerala for a 5 day trip. Have to make the most of our remaining time.
