Daisy, Bob and I spent today on the beach at Palolem, based at the Art Resort. The wind was from the south west so we reasoned we would be very sheltered there. And we were. It was really calm all day and we spent hours in the water. It is still very hot and quite humid so it was bliss to be able to do it.

First though we had a rude awakening due to crashes and bangs overhead and outside as a troop of monkeys swung through the trees and palm fronds, bounced across the roof and generally had fun and games all over the upper floors of Eve Resort. They were still up there gurning down at us while we sat in the restaurant waiting for our tuk. Cheeky things. Amazingly agile though and such long tails….
We had breakfast at Art Resort. Again amazing food and amazing portions. Daisy and I both ordered vegetable frittata which came with a couple of bit of potato and tomato and two slices each of really lovely brown wholemeal toast. Best bread we’ve had so far. And the frittata was huge. We could have shared one. A bargain at £2.50 each. We also had some very good coffee. Bob had bhagi puri and tea and that looked amazing too. Big puffy puri bread.

The loungers were very good. Deep mattresses and we had a lovely day. I think we’ve definitely found our new base on Palolem Beach. CozyNook was just getting to racketty…. Nice loos as Art resort too.

We came back at about 3 and rested and then tonight we went to Dropadi in Palolem with Linda and Mike. Our last visit this holiday. Lovely meal. Gin and sodas for me. Daisy had her watermelon martinis. Bob had strawberry daquiris. Linda, Daisy and I all had chicken kastoori kebabs, Bob had chicken jalfrezi with rice, Mike had chicken tikka with cheese garlic naan bread. All absolutely fabulous. The waiters all came to shake hands and say goodbye at the end – they know we are going soon now. Love Dropadi.
